Phim được chủ đích làm theo kiểu bựa của phim hành động thập niên 80-90, thể hiện lại những chi tiết vô đối của thời hoàng kim đó như
NV chính chả bao giờ trúng đạn, nếu có trúng th́ cũng có áo chống đạn, anh hùng đánh bọn ác như con, kẻ ác bắt được nhân vật chính không bao giờ giết mà tha cho đi, chờ nhân vật chính tới giết ngược...
Xem phim này chủ yếu là để xem bắn súng, đánh nhau và cháy nổ cho đă, phần hành động trong phim này đúng nghĩa là bắn người ra bă, chém giết bạo lực. Cộng thêm nếu có hiểu biết th́ sẽ enjoy những câu joke. Arnold 30 năm trước nói câu thoại bất hủ: "I'll be back" trong Terminator (xếp hạng 37 trong số 100 câu thoại đáng nhớ nhất của Hollywood), th́ trong phim này ông nói: "I'm back". Bruce Willis th́ nói lại Arnold là: "Anh đă nói câu đó nhiều lần lắm rồi. (You've been back enough)", ngụ ư giễu Arnold là từ sau Terminator hầu như phim nào ông đóng cũng nói câu "I'll be back". Trong phim này cũng có 1 nhân vật chọc Arnold là "your ass is TERMINATED".
Arnold phải nói là nhân vật kỳ lạ nhất thế giới, từ một VĐV thể h́nh đoạt giải Mr. Olympia trở thành một diễn viên nổi tiếng, tham gia chính trị, rồi giờ lại quay lại đóng phim. Cứ tưởng tượng cảnh một ông thống đốc một bang có dân số và kinh tế hùng hậu hơn nhiều nước trên thế giới mà lại lăn xả trên phim, cầm súng bắn bọn ác văng óc (theo đúng nghĩa đen), th́ ta phải thốt lên là: "Chỉ có thể là nước Mỹ".
Một số câu thoại hay khác trong phim như "rest in pieces" (rest in peace), "I now pronounce you man and knife (not wife)". Khi đồng đội hỏi Lư Liên Kiệt: "Anh có thắng không?", th́ Lư Liên Kiệt trả lời là "Đương nhiên", một joke về phong cách phim của Lư, vào phim là đánh đấm túi bụi rồi cuối cùng hầu như lúc nào cũng thắng. Chuck Norris th́ khỏi nói, mỗi lần xuất hiện (trong tiếng nhạc bựa) là steal the show, một ḿnh hạ cả trăm (và sử dụng cả Chuck Norris's facts làm thoại).
Nghe nói phần 3 sẽ mời cả Clint Eastwood và Harrison Ford nữa.
