Ghê rợn với phim “Những kẻ man rợ”
(TT&VH) - Sau tác phẩm Wall street: Money never sleeps tương đối nhẹ nhàng cả về chủ đề lẫn thể loại, đạo diễn Oliver Stone đă quay trở lại với phong cách đặc trưng của ḿnh qua Những kẻ man rợ (Savages). Nặng nề, bạo lực, ghê rợn, số phận nhân vật mù mịt, Những kẻ man rợ chứa đựng những nét quen thuộc nhất trong phim của Oliver Stone. Mặc dù đề tài không mới nhưng bộ phim lại được thực hiện tương đối lạ so với các tác phẩm h́nh sự, gangster thông thường, đặc biệt là cái kết.
1. Trong quá tŕnh đi lính tại Afghanistan, Chon (Taylor Kitsch) có cơ hội vận chuyển trái phép hạt giống cần sa trở về Mỹ. Anh và cậu bạn thân Ben (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) đă gây dựng nên đường dây cung cấp ma túy chất lượng hảo hạng nhất tại California. Cùng nhau chia sẻ thành công, Chon và Ben c̣n chia sẻ mối quan hệ tay ba kỳ lạ với O (Blake Lively), một cô gái địa phương xinh đẹp.
Khi mạng lưới cung cấp ngày càng mở rộng, họ bắt đầu gặp trở ngại từ tổ chức tội phạm ma túy cực kỳ nguy hiểm Baja đến từ Mexico. Điều hành Baja, thật đáng ngạc nhiên lại là một người phụ nữ quyến rũ. Nắm quyền lực trong tay, từ nhiều năm qua Elena (Salma Hayek) đă phạm vô số tội ác và sớm trở thành mục tiêu của lực lượng truy quét ma túy. Cuộc đấu trí căng thẳng bắt đầu diễn ra khi O bị tổ chức Baja bắt cóc.
2. Trong Những kẻ man rợ, hầu như tất cả các nhân vật đều có mặt tốt mặt xấu, kể cả chính diện lẫn phản diện. Từ Chon, dù là một cựu binh trong lực lượng SEAL nhưng vẫn sẵn sàng nổ súng vào cảnh sát để t́m cách cứu người yêu, cho đến Elena, dù là kẻ đứng đầu Baja nhưng có những góc khuất trong cuộc sống, hết ḷng v́ cô con gái duy nhất. Ngay bản thân nhân vật hiền lành, chưa bao giờ đánh ai, thậm chí liên tục đi làm từ thiện như Ben, cũng buôn bán cần sa suốt nhiều năm. Ngoài ra c̣n phải kể đến tên tội phạm khát máu Lado (Benicio Del Toro) hay viên cảnh sát Dennis (John Travolta).

Cũng giống như các tác phẩm trước của Oliver Stone, tone mầu trong Những kẻ man rợ, đậm, rất có chiều sâu đôi khi bất chợt chuyển sang đen trắng. Một điểm hiếm thấy đối với thể loại h́nh sự/ ly kỳ. Tính chất bạo lực, dữ dội của câu chuyện cộng với việc sử dụng mầu sắc của Oliver Stone, Những kẻ man rợ càng để lại ấn tượng cho người xem.
Vai diễn hay nhất trong phim không thuộc về Ben hay Chon mà chính là Lado của Benicio Del Toro. Ánh mắt gườm gườm từ dưới lên, làm những điều không thể ngờ tới, giết người máu lạnh, vai Lado khiến ta phải sởn cả gai ốc. John Travolta và Salma Hayek cũng để lại dấu ấn riêng, thoát khỏi những vai diễn trước kia của họ.
Những kẻ man rợ không phải là tác phẩm giải trí dễ xem, mà c̣n rất nặng nề, kén khán giả. Tuy nhiên, nếu kiên nhẫn thưởng thức, bạn sẽ khám phá ra thế giới không lẫn vào đâu được của Oliver Stone.
Những kẻ man rợ đang được chiếu tại các hệ thống rạp trên toàn quốc. Phim cấm trẻ em dưới 16 tuổi.
