Cũng giống như Làn sóng mới kiểu Pháp th́ cái tên David Lynch gắn liền với những bộ phim kinh dị/rùng rợn/li ḱ kinh điển. Phim của Lynch luôn khác biệt so với các bộ phim kinh dị khác.
Được biết đến nhất với các phim siêu thực của ḿnh, ông đă tạo nên một phong cách điện ảnh độc đáo, mà nhiều người hay nhắc đến với cái tên “phong cách Lynchian”, điển h́nh với những h́nh ảnh mơ mộng, không khí đặc biệt không có trong bất ḱ phim nào khác hay việc thiết kế âm thanh, h́nh ảnh hết sức tỉ mỉ.

Vừa coi phim này xong cách đây vài ngày, tuy rất là bệnh hoạn (v́ lúc coi ḿnh đang bị sốt) nhưng cũng bị thôi thúc phải hiểu cho bằng được david lynch đang muốn truyền tải cái lồng ǵ ở phim này. Lên mạng đọc review mới ngỡ ra được nhiều thứ, xếp phim này vào top 20 luôn
.
Công nhận, về khoản ẩn dụ th́ không ai qua được bác lynch, cộng với quay phim trừu tượng và có phần ma quái nữa, thật là lạ v́ bấy lâu nay vẫn chưa bị nghiện bác ấy...
