Galaxy không nhập phim nhiều bằng Mega, hầu như Mega thống trị thị trường phim nhập, cho nên đội ngũ dịch của Mega cũng hùng hậu hơn, đội ngũ check và QC cũng hùng hậu theo
Galaxy thì lâu lâu mới có phim, cũng không phải là bom tấn. Nhớ hồi Battle Los Angeles đấy, bên Galaxy dịch, magazine mà các ông ấy toàn tương vào là tạp chí thì có chết không cơ chứ, trong khi đúng phải là "băng đạn"

TT - Thảm họa Los Angeles sẽ khó lòng khiến người xem cảm thấy sợ hãi, âu lo hay bất an - cảm xúc mà các nhà làm phim mong muốn có được từ khán giả với một bộ phim giả tưởng về người ngoài hành tinh và ngày tận thế.
Nhưng Thảm họa Los Angeles vẫn là quán quân tại thị trường Bắc Mỹ trong tuần công chiếu đầu tiên (11-3) với 36 triệu USD. Có lẽ nhờ vào hình ảnh, kỹ xảo đẹp mắt với nhiều cảnh quay được dàn dựng công phu, những pha hành động tới tấp và diễn xuất tạm ổn của dàn diễn viên trong phim.
Tuy nhiên những yếu tố tạo nên sự ăn khách ở thị trường Mỹ đó khó cứu vãn nổi bộ phim với những lỗi dịch thuật khi được chiếu tại thị trường Việt Nam. Người xem đã nhiều phen "mắc xương" khi phụ đề phim thường xuyên "lạc lối".
Những người lính thủy đánh bộ, hay còn gọi là thủy quân lục chiến (marine), trong phim lúc được dịch là lính thủy (navy), lúc thì được dịch là lính thủy đánh bộ. Khi các anh lính thủy đánh bộ đó xác định được kẻ địch của mình là "alien" (người ngoài hành tinh) thì phụ đề tiếng Việt lại hiện lên dòng chữ "kẻ xa lạ", "người lạ". Trong lúc chiến đấu với người ngoài hành tinh, những người lính thường xuyên yêu cầu tiếp viện các băng đạn (magazine) thì bản dịch cứ vô tư dịch nghĩa magazine là "tạp chí".
Người xem liên tục được đọc phần phụ đề khó hiểu: "Ðưa cho tôi tạp chí" hay "Tôi cần thêm tạp chí" ở các cảnh phim những người lính cần thêm đạn dược. Với những cảnh quăng lựu đạn vào người ngoài hành tinh, họ thường hô to: "Fire in the hole", hàm ý "Ðã kích nổ, mọi người hãy tránh xa". Vậy mà khi chuyển ngữ, người dịch cứ vô tư dịch từng chữ: "Có lửa trong cái lỗ"!
Ngay cả đoạn phim một người lính hôn tạm biệt đứa con còn trong bụng vợ và thầm thì "Con của ba" rất tình cảm cũng bị làm hỏng bởi phần dịch vô cùng máy móc "Con của tôi". Và phần trao đổi ngắn ngủi nhưng thân thiết của đôi vợ chồng trẻ trước giờ người chồng lên đường ra trận cũng bị "đơ" hoàn toàn khi phần phụ đề tiếng Việt cứ "phang" những chữ như "tôi", "cô", "ông" cho phần xưng hô giữa hai vợ chồng.
Sau tất cả những chia ly, mất mát vừa diễn ra trên màn bạc, người xem vẫn không quá lo sợ về cái ngày bị người ngoài hành tinh xâm chiếm. Nhưng lại quá khiếp sợ với kiểu dịch và làm phụ đề phim hời hợt, ẩu tả triền miên sau nhiều năm ta đã có những cụm rạp chiếu phim đạt chuẩn quốc tế với đặc quyền được thưởng thức phim mới gần như cùng lúc với bạn bè thế giới.
