Nhà Biên kịch Henry một ḿnh quay trở về trong gia đ́nh “Chắp vá”. Một cuộc sống hàng ngày đầy sự hỗn loạn: Magdalena - 10 tuổi lần đầu thích một cậu bạn cùng trường, c̣n Katharina đă quá mệt mỏi v́ phải chăm sóc bé Louis – đứa con được sinh ra từ t́nh yêu của cô và Henry. Katharina cố trốn chạy, cô muốn t́m một nơi yên tĩnh để viết một cuốn sách mới. Tristan - người cha nuôi tốt bụng của Magdalena - sau khi mất hết công ăn việc làm và tiền bạc, đă dọn về ở cùng Henry để có đảm nhận công việc như một người mẹ. Lần đầu tiên đảm nhận vai tṛ nhà sản xuất phim, Henry đă gặp siêu sao điện ảnh Matthias Schweighoefer (Diễn viên và đạo diễn bộ phim Schlussmacher - đă được ḿnh dịch) một diễn viên có tính cách nổi loạn và lập dị.
Nếu gia đ́nh “Chắp vá” tiếp tục hỗn loạn liệu có nguy cơ bị tan ră? Ai sẽ là người hàn gắn? Nhưng nguy cơ tan ră có mặt tốt của nó: Mọi thành viên có thể nh́n thấy những thứ và mọi người thuộc về nhau, bởi v́ tranh đấu luôn luôn có giá trị khi chính mỗi người tự đấu tranh cho t́nh yêu thương chân thành.
